An attempt to bring forward a measure to delay or stop biodiesel development in Minnesota was stopped in a legislative committee this week. Minnesota Farmers Union Director of Government Relations Thom Petersen says they were able to keep a rule in place that calls for a B-10 biodiesel blend set to go into effect this summer.
Petersen says there was widespread support for biodiesel that came together to keep the rule moving forward.
Petersen says their next state legislative challenge is to try and stop a moratorium being proposed on Minnesota’s wolf hunting season. He says that’s been an important tool for controlling that predator that can devastate livestock herds.
