Minnesota Farm Bureau Watching Tax Bills

Minnesota Farm Bureau Watching Tax Bills

This Friday is the deadline for policy bills to move out of committee in the Minnesota Legislature. State Farm Bureau Policy Director Amber Hanson Glaeser says they’re watching several tax bills.

She says they’d like legislators to increase the tax credit provided to farmers and ranchers for education and tweak the Homestead tax credit.

Glaeser says property tax reform is needed as farmers and ranchers typically pay a higher rate.

Glaeser says if they can get the property tax credit increased over the current 40 percent that would be helpful for farmers and ranchers given the current depressed state of the ag economy.
