Minnesota Farm Bureau Watching Legislative Issues

Minnesota Farm Bureau members are keeping their eye on some agricultural issues as the State Legislature winds down their 2015 session. Farm Bureau’s Public Policy Director Doug Busselman says they’re monitoring tax and transportation measures as well as the overall agriculture bill.

Busselman says property tax relief is one of his group’s priorities and there are important components in House legislation being considered.  He says Farm Bureau prefers the House version of the transportation bill rather than what the Governor is looking for.

Busselman says it may be tough to find a compromise on the transportation legislation as the two sides are far apart on how to fund that. Minnesota state lawmakers are scheduled to end their 2015 session May 18.
