Minnesota Farm Bureau members would like to see passage of a transportation bill before the state legislature adjourns. Farm Bureau Public Policy Director Amber Hanson Glaeser says transportation measures are moving through a couple of different avenues. She says in the House, it’s tied to a bonding bill.
She says the path in the Senate is through a proposed constitutional amendment.
Glaeser says the Minnesota Farm Bureau is taking a neutral position on the Senate measure but is monitoring both bills.
Glaeser says transportation bill needs to fund roads, bridges, rail and river infrastructure. She says it amounts to an economic development issue for agriculture.
