Minnesota Farm Bureau members are pleased with tax legislation that passed the State House this week. Farm Bureau Public Policy Director Amber Hanson Glaeser says the measure includes important state federal tax conformity that will be beneficial for farmers and ranchers.
She says they’re also monitoring property tax relief measures that they want approved.
Glaeser says lawmakers are scheduled to adjourn May 21 and appropriations bills still need to be passed.
Glaeser says her group is also watching to see what House members do regarding the ditch mowing issue. She says earlier the Senate passed an additional one year moratorium on permits needed for mowing and haying in the state right of way. Glaeser says the House is working on a companion measure.
