Minnesota Farm Bureau members made hill visits last week in the nation’s capital. One of those was Jackson County Farm Bureau President Rachel Daberkow, who also works as a farm real estate appraiser. She says they talked to lawmakers about how tough it is financially for many producers.
She says they also met with USDA officials and told them about the large number of prevented plant acres in Minnesota this year.
Daberkow says one of the most important tools for farmers is having a solid risk management program in place.
Daberkow says the group also asked lawmakers to ratify the USMCA trade agreement and provide relief for unallocated RFS gallons from the large amount of small refiner waivers.
