The Minnesota Farm Bureau Board of Directors has set their priority issues for the 2021 state legislative session that gets underway January 5. Farm Bureau’s Public Policy Director Amber Hanson Glaeser says two areas they want to see headway on are improving broadband access and making sure agriculture is a part of addressing climate change issues.

She says it’s important lawmakers fund ag research and pass measures to support that.

Glaeser says they also want to make sure victories they’ve gained in tax policy are maintained and that legislators don’t do anything to move backward on those.

She says other tax wins they want to keep in place include Section 179 conformity and the Beginning Farmer Tax Credit.
