Minnesota Farm Bureau delegates re elected Kevin Paap as their President at their 97th annual meeting over the weekend. The Group also set their priority issues for the coming year. Paap says many of those are at the state level and include everything from water quality and quantity to transportation infrastructure and taxes.
Paap says one of their toughest issues to get a handle on is how to deal with the rising property tax burden on farmers and ranchers and still be able to fund education.
He says their national priorities revolve around farm data, bio technology and the need for a national bio tech labeling requirement.
Paap says they also support free trade agreements and want to see the Trans Pacific Partnership approved.
