Minnesota Farm Bureau Sees Positive Movement On State Ag Related Bills

It’s been a positive session so far this year for agriculture related bills in the Minnesota Legislature. That’s according to State Farm Bureau Public Policy Director Amber Hanson Glaeser. She says there was movement last week on an important biofuels bill.

She says lawmakers have also been moving tax bills forward which are beneficial for agriculture.

Glaeser says following a tough year in 2019 where farmers and ranchers struggled with low commodity prices and weather challenges, state lawmakers have been supportive in providing tax relief and various bills to help them and this year is no different.

Glaeser says conforming the Section 179 expensing at the state level with the federal standard not only helps agriculture but also small business in Minnesota.
