Minnesota Farm Bureau President Kevin Paap recently hosted Cuban Embassy official Miguel Fraga on his farm near Vernon Center. Paap says Cuba could be a very important market for U.S. agriculture if trade restrictions can be lifted and his group is working to help achieve that.

He says Fraga is very interested in having Cuba purchase U.S. commodities especially soybeans.

Paap says what’s badly needed is legislation to loosen up trade restrictions so trade can flow freely between the U.S. and Cuba.

Paap says Fraga was able to see harvest first hand on his operation and was impressed by what he saw.
