Minnesota state lawmakers will gavel in their 2021 session on January 5, less than two months away. The State Farm Bureau is already looking forward to working with state legislators on issues important to their members although they’ll be developing their official policy in a couple of weeks. Public Policy Director Amber Hanson Glaeser says bringing new lawmakers up to speed will be one major priority.

She says they’ll have several tax issues to discuss with state legislators including keeping some of the reforms they’ve been able to achieve in past sessions.

Glaeser says they’ll speak with legislators about the importance of having reasonable regulations especially those directly geared toward the environment.

Glaeser says one of the bigger infrastructure issues they’ll be talking to state lawmakers about will be the need for better access for rural broadband in Minnesota.
