House Agriculture Committee ranking member, Minnesota Congressman Collin Peterson says he expects the farm bill to be up for consideration and possibly pass next week. Minnesota Farm Bureau Public Policy Director Amber Hanson Glaeser shares that optimism.

Peterson says part of the new farm bill includes giving options to farmers to change their election for either PLC or ARC programs. Glaeser says that’s positive.

She’s also pleased that Peterson indicated there will be assistance provided in the farm bill for dairy producers.

Glaeser says it’s also positive the new farm bill is calling for an increase of 3 million acres eligible for the Conservation Reserve Program.
