The USDA has announced that the second round of COVID 19 pandemic relief payments or CFAP 2 begins with enrollment today (Monday sept21) and runs through December 11 at county Farm Service Agency offices. Minnesota Farm Bureau’s Public Policy Director Amber Hanson Glaeser says assistance is badly needed by farmers and ranchers and the USDA has made $14 billion available in this round.

She says this second round of CFAP is positive in that several other commodities were added for the aid.

Glaeser advises producers to make sure and enroll in this CFAP 2 program. She says the USDA is working quickly to provide the help needed for producers to sign-up.

CFAP 2 provides help for row crop farmers with eligible acres of the crop multiplied by a rate of $15 per acre or eligible acres of the crop multiplied by a nationwide crop marketing percentage multiplied by a crop-specific rate and then by the producer’s weighted 2020 Actual Production
