Minnesota legislators are winding down their 2015 session and so far the State Farm Bureau is claiming a pair of major victories. Farm Bureau’s Public Policy Director Doug Busselman says one has to do with property tax relief.
He says the Governor’s legislation calling for a mandated buffer zone on farms and ranches has been stymied and for all technical reasons is dead at this time. Busselman says it could conceivably come up later as an amendment or an attachment to another bill.
The Minnesota Farm Bureau, Farmers Union, Cattlemen and Corn Grower’s all oppose that measure while the Land Stewardship project backs it.
