This week the House overwhelmingly approved the Water Resources Reform and Development Act conference report on a 412 to 4 vote. Minnesota Farm Bureau President Kevin Paap says the waterways infrastructure measure is badly needed and will bring major economic benefits to ag and non ag interests alike.
Paap says House passage is just the first step with the Senate up next and following that getting the proper funding to implement the legislation.
Farm Bureau estimates WRDA will bring $ 6 Billion in total cost savings and important reforms to ensure the reliability and strength of the nation’s waterways and ports.
