Minnesota lawmakers were called back to the state capital in St. Paul this week for their fifth special legislative session. Minnesota Farm Bureau’s Public Policy Director Amber Hanson Glaeser says they’ve extended that session that began Monday and have made great progress on their bonding bill that contains Section 179 tax conformity with votes in both chambers expected either today or tomorrow.
She says the bonding legislation not only helps with the tax conformity but also has several other benefits for the entire state’s economy.
Glaeser says leaders in the state legislature have done a great job listening to them and other farm groups about the importance of getting the bonding measure approved.
Glaeser says their farm bureau members have been active weighing in with state lawmakers on these issues and currently their group is in the middle of their policy development session as they get ready for the next regular session of the Minnesota Legislature set for January 2, 2021.
