The Minnesota Farm Bureau wants Congress to include more financial aid for agriculture in their next Coronavirus Relief Legislation. Farm Bureau Public Policy Director Amber Hanson Glaeser says the other relief bills were appreciated but more needs to be done to help cover the recent damage and that expected in the future due to the pandemic.

She says changes to various government relief programs are needed especially through the Small Business Administration Paycheck Protection Program.

Glaeser says the federal government did a great job getting relief programs out for agriculture in response to the pandemic but changes and tweaks are needed to make them work better going forward.

Glaeser says aid is critically needed for ethanol and poultry producers as well as passage of legislation to improve rural broadband access.
