Environmental activists in Minnesota are in the middle of a summer-long campaign aimed at changing habits surrounding the use of plastic in everyday life. Just yesterday Starbucks announced they will eliminate the use of plastic straws in their stores by 2020. Tim Schaefer with Environment Minnesota says moves like that get people thinking about how much plastic they use each day.

Schaefer says they have engaged people in communities statewide and may extend their campaign into the fall.
