The Minnesota Department of Transportation has announced plans to implement technology that can inform long haul truckers of parking availability at seven different rest areas around the state. Project Manager Dan Rowe says the goal is to give truckers as much real-time information as they can.

 

Rowe says giving the tired drivers a place to park will increase the overall safety of Minnesota roadways. The program is expected to be operational by January of 2019.
