The Minnesota Dicamba Task Force has sent its recommendations to the State Department of Agriculture and Commissioner Dave Frederickson. Task Force Chairman Bob Worth, member of the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association, says more education is needed for those who spray dicamba and there should be a cut-off date for application.
Worth says they also recommend dicamba not be sprayed when the temperature exceeds 85-degrees.
Worth says task force members want growers to be able to use dicamba to control weeds, but want to make sure other producers are protected from drift issues.
Worth and some of the task force members will meet with Ag Commissioner Dave Frederickson on Thursday. He thinks the Commissioner wants to have the new dicamba rules in place by early December.
