Minnesota Congress to Introduce Flu Research Bill

Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar says she and other members of Congress will introduce a bill to to fund flu research.  This comes during one of the worst flu seasons since 2009.  Klobuchar says the end goal is to develop a more effective flu vaccine.

Since the start of the influenza season, nearly four-thousand people have been hospitalized with flu-related symptoms in the state, there has also been one reported pediatric flu death. In addition, Klobuchar is also pushing the FDA to address the IV bag and saline shortage in the U.S., which are essential in treating the flu.
