Minnesota lawmakers could return to St, Paul this week for a special legislative session. There are two primary issues the Minnesota State Cattlemen’s Association will be watching. Executive Director, Ashley Kohls says they want to make sure the buffer compromise holds up, and they’re also watching any possible changes to the State Pollution Control Agency Citizen’s Board.
Kohls says the Cattlemen’s Association agree with the buffer compromise, but they didn’t like the original proposal, which fit all areas into one regulation.
Kohls says it’s important the pollution citizen’s board remain an advisory group, rather than having expanded permitting authority.
