State budget negotiations resumed at Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton’s residence yesterday afternoon, as the Governor and Republican House Speaker Kurt Daudt tried to agree on public school funding, an environment bill, and a jobs package– all legislation the governor vetoed last week.
Daudt says he and Governor Dayton have agreed a special session will be held in two large hearing rooms in the State Office Building, because the State Capitol building is under major renovation. A date for the special session has not yet been set. Lawmakers have until July 1st to pass bills that Dayton will sign, or some state agencies will shut down.
Another round of budget talks continues today.
