The Minnesota Biofuels Council earlier this week released its consensus report on the steps needed to grow the state’s biofuels industry and develop a low carbon fuel standard policy. American Coalition for Ethanol’s CEO Brian Jennings says Minnesota is one of several Northern Plains states looking at an LCFS policy that would help ethanol and all biofuels producers.

He says the Minnesota Biofuels Council has set some specific target dates for implementing the low carbon fuel standard policy.

Jennings says this move on a clean fuel policy in Minnesota piggybacks on the work done by ACE and the Great Plains Institute began earlier.

Other recommendations from the Minnesota Biofuels Council includes measures to accelerate the state’s move to E-15, increasing the use of E-15, E-85 and biodiesel blends in state fleet vehicles.
