The Minnesota Beef Council recently named a butcher shop in southeast Minnesota as the 2023 Retail Beef Backer Award.  The honor was presented to Lindsey Loken, the owner of Blondie’s Butcher Shop of Wanamingo, Minnesota.  Loken says this is the second time she has been recognized by the Minnesota Beef Council for this award.  Loken says she enjoys cutting meat and educating her customers.  She says COVID brought back the local butcher shop to many small town communities.

Liken says she is the link of the chain between producer and consumer, and she says there is interest in the different types of beef cuts, now that consumers are preparing their own meals, as opposed to eating at a restaurant.

Loken says she uses social media and in-store promotional materials to help educate her customers about the benefits and variety of beef cuts.
