Today is the deadline for voting in the Minnesota beef checkoff referendum. Minnesota Beef Council Chair Mark Malecek says an affirmative vote will increase the state beef checkoff to help fund education, promotion and research programs.
He says however, it does not apply to dairy animals sold for breeding or cattle sold outside the state. He says the results will be announced by the Minnesota Department of Ag within the next few weeks.
All qualified Minnesota cattle producers that requested a ballot must fill that out on both sides and have it postmarked with today’s date in order to be eligible.
