An Executive Order issued by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz requires farm businesses, farmers markets and other agricultural businesses to have a COVID 19 preparedness plan in place by June 29. State Agriculture Commissioner Thom Petersen says the outbreak of the pandemic has reached some farms in the state so it’s critical this plan be put in place.

He says they’ve gotten several questions from producers about the virus and what they should do if it shows up.

Petersen says they have information on their ag department website to assist those who still need to formulate their preparedness plan.

Petersen says they’re holding a second webinar on COVID preparedness today at 3p.m. and their first webinar on Wednesday drew 120 participants.
