Low commodity prices have many farmers on edge. Minnesota Agriculture Commissioner Dave Frederickson says despite lower fuel and fertilizer costs, farmers will still need very high yields, because there is no commodity price rebound in sight
Frederickson says farmers who planned for the downturn during good times should be okay, but those who didn’t manage their operations well will likely struggle. He says crops are off to an early start this year and everyone is hoping for that perfect mix of rain and sunshine.
