The Minnesota State Agriculture and Health Departments are teaming up to hold half a dozen meetings to help train individuals recognize stress that farmers are undergoing. State Agriculture Commissioner Thom Petersen says they want to help people know what to do to help when they see warning signs for suicide and severe stress.

He says they’ve determined that a lot of the stress farmers and ranchers are going through have led to accidents.

Petersen says the Minnesota Agriculture Department and Extension Service have a lot of resources available to help those producers dealing with stress.

The Ag and Health Department meetings run from 8:30 in the morning until 12:30 p.m. Meetings are being held in Thief River Falls, Moorhead, Faribault, Austin, Marshall and Waite Park from today through December 4.
