Legislation to fund agricultural programs in Minnesota has passed out of a state legislative committee and could be conferenced following the Easter recess. Minnesota Farmers Union Government Relations Director Thom Petersen says both parties are coming together well on ag issues this session.
He says the agricultural finance measure spans two years and contains funding for existing and well as some new ag programs like livestock grants and hemp development.
Petersen says one of the other major ag victories this state legislative session is the dollars provided for the Rural Finance Authority.
Minnesota state lawmakers return to St. Paul today following the Easter recess.
