The new farm bill contains some changes for dairy producers and there will be a webinar on Thursday December 27 starting at noon to talk about those. Speaking will be University of Minnesota Ag Economics Professor Dr. Marin Bozic. He says one of the primary changes is the Dairy Margin Coverage program replacing the Margin Protection Insurance program. Bozic says that has a maximum coverage of $9.50.

He says the flexibility afforded crop farmers for ARC and PLC is now available for dairy producers.

Bozic says another change involves the use of production history.

The webinar gets underway at noon on Thursday December 27. For more information call Iowa State Extension dairy specialist Dr. Fred Hall at 712—737-4230 or email him at fredhall@iastate.edu.
