Four Jackrabbits finished in the top seven as the South Dakota State women’s golf team won the Omaha Invitational Sunday afternoon at the ArborLinks Golf Course in Nebraska City, Neb.

 

The Jacks won by 25 strokes over Summit League member North Dakota State, shooting a three-round 891 (309-288-294) on the par-72, 6,179 course.

 

Senior Megan Mingo from Yankton finished second, firing a three-round 217 (74-73-70) with 13 birdies in the three rounds. Her final round 70 ranks as the third-lowest round in school history.

 

Teresa Toscano turned in the best finish by a freshman in their first collegiate event in SDSU history, finishing fourth with a 222 (78-70-74). For the tournament, she collected nine birdies, including four in the final round.

 

Senior Hallie Getz finished fifth, shooting a 225 (81-73-71) with eight birdies.

 

After playing 72 holes in three days, freshman Sydney Bormann shot an 80 to give her a  three-round total of 229 (77-72-80) to finish seventh in her first collegiate event.

 

Freshman Jade Newman made the biggest move in the standings for the Jackrabbits, going from 31st Saturday to 25th Sunday after firing a final round 79 (84-80-79=243).
