Veteran NBA player and South Dakota native Mike Miller has signed on for another season, this time with the Denver Nuggets.
The Nuggets also signed first-round pick Jamal Murray.
Murray was the seventh overall pick in the NBA draft last month. The shooting guard is expected to play a big part in turning around a franchise that’s missed the playoffs the past three seasons. Murray is coming off a freshman season at Kentucky in which he averaged 20 points a game — the highest scoring average for a Wildcats player under coach John Calipari.
The 36-year-old Miller played only 373 minutes last season but served a valuable role as a mentor on a young squad. His deal reportedly is for two years.
Miller was picked fifth overall by Orlando in 2000. He’s also played for Cleveland, Memphis, Miami, Washington and Minnesota.
