Sign up for USDA’s Dairy Margin Protection Program has been fairly quick this year. Chris Galen with the National Milk Producer’s Federation says producers have another sign up opportunity available to them with a deadline coming in September.

Galen says now is a good time for producers to start considering their options regarding the margin protection program.

Galen says the margin program is a helpful tool for producers to protect themselves against the whims of the market and fluctuating prices.
