Milk Official Says Executive Order Falls Short Of Needed Reform

Milk Official Says Executive Order Falls Short Of Needed Reform

Last week President Obama issued executive orders to push forward immigration reform largely because the House failed to act to pass legislation. National Milk Producer Federation’s Chris Galen says those orders fall short of what’s needed for the dairy industry in terms of needed immigration reform. He says Congress needs to get moving and pass some type of immigration measure.
Galen say immigration reform must be addressed either during the lame duck congressional session or early next year with new representatives and senators on board.
Galen’s group is also part of the Agriculture Workforce Coalition which has 70 groups that want Congress to pass an immigration bill and don’t believe the executive orders will get the job done.
