The Minnesota Pollution Control Association is taking public comments on its 2021-2026 National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System proposal. State Milk Producers Association Executive Director Lucas Sjostrom is encouraging all farmers and ranchers to submit comments by Thursday’s deadline.

He says the best management practices being proposed by MPCA in the NPDES rule have no evidence or data to support them as such.

Sjostrom says what MPCA is proposing regarding cover crops has no scientific basis.

To find out how to comment and to read the MPCA’s proposal, you can log onto the Minnesota Milk Producers Association’s website (at mnmilk.org).
