News this week that U.S. President Barack Obama has been visiting with Mexico’s President about immigration has ag group’s hoping Congress will pass some type of legislation this year. National Milk Producer Federation’s Chris Galen says Congress needs to add immigration to its list of priorities which include the budget, energy policy and the Keystone XL pipeline.
Galen says while it might be helpful for President Obama to talk with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, the real discussion has to be with Obama and Congressional leaders.
Galen says that immigration reform compromise needs to address things like border security and food production workers.
