Comments on the U.S. Dietary Guideline Recommendations are due this Thursday. Comments are being taken at the National Milk Producers Federation’s website. Minnesota Milk Producers Association Executive Director Lucas Sjostrom is encouraging everyone to submit their comments before Thursday’s deadline.

He says it’s critical that those supportive of dairy producers and the industry submit their comments because opponents are already lining up to challenge dairy and its health benefits.

Sjostrom says the latest dietary recommendations indicated several health benefits of dairy which were backed up by scientific research findings.

Both the USDA and Department of Health and Human Services will be finalizing the government guidelines once they receive all the public comments.
