Midland University tallied 110 points for first place in the 2015 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Preseason Coaches’ Volleyball Poll.
The Warriors garnered five of twelve first place votes. Northwestern, who was picked second with 101 points received three first place votes while Hastings, picked third with 100 points also had three first place votes.
Dordt was picked fourth with 96 points, while Concordia picked up one first place vote and was fifth with 89 points. College of Saint Mary, in their inaugural GPAC Season, was picked ninth with 44 points.
Northwestern won the GPAC regular season with a 15-1 record last fall and posted an overall record of 33-5. The Red Raiders also won the GPAC Tournament. Midland was second in the regular season (12-4) and finished with an overall record of 24-11.
The 36th Annual NAIA National Volleyball Championship is set for December 1-5, 2015, at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
The 2015 GPAC volleyball season will consist of 16 conference matches with 12 teams competing for the conference crown. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team in the preseason poll.
