Mexico is interested in using U.S. sorghum for ethanol production. In fact, a trade team of Mexican ethanol producers recently visited the U.S. hosted by the U.S. Grains Council. United Sorghum Checkoff Board Chairman and South Dakota grower David Fremark says in the past Mexico was the top U.S. sorghum customer and with this latest development they could be again.
He says there have been several successful trade missions taking place involving both Mexican teams traveling to the U.S. and U.S. teams to Mexico.
Fremark says the number of foreign customers of U.S. sorghum has been growing at a significant pace.
Fremark is currently attending the U.S. Grains Council’s summer meeting in Louisville.
