St. Edward area farmer David Merrell has been re-elected as chairman of the Nebraska Corn Board. Merrell says his primary goals include getting both Nebraska corn groups to work together to help growers and to promote the state’s livestock industry.

He says the recent decision by the EPA to raise the RFS volume levels for corn ethanol critical in helping the industry move forward.

Merrell says the Nebraska Corn Board will continue working with researchers to find additional uses for corn.

Merrell is now serving his second year as chairman. He’s been a director on the Nebraska Corn Board since 2006.
