The double deck, Meridian Bridge over the Missouri River would get more attention in the proposed five-year Capital Improvement Plan under consideration by the Yankton City Commission. The bridge is part of the Parks and Recreation Department.

During a budget workshop, City Manager Amy Leon said they have some money set aside for bridge work…..

Leon says they are anticipating a special year for the bridge….

Leon says the city will have to find some long term funding for the bridge….

The city took over the bridge in 2012, turning it into a walking, biking bridge. The commission will adopt the CIP later.
