Mental Health Care Available To Yankton Students

An expansion of mental health care offered to students and their families was outlined to the Yankton School Board at their meeting this week.

Dr. Tom Stanage, Executive Director of Lewis & Clark Behavioral Services, told the board they are moving forward with the program called “Functional Family Therapy”…

 

Stanage says they have added one fulltime counselor for the school, and will retrain several of their staff members…

 

Superintendent Dr. Wayne Kindle says they have changed the way they approach behavior problems…

 

The program is being funding with a grant from the Attorney General’s office, and is one of the first in the state.
