Nebraska Appropriations Committee chairman, Senator Heath Mello of Omaha, defends the 8(B)Billion dollar state budget against criticism from Governor Dave Heineman.
Mello says it’s wrong to charge the legislature approved 136-Million dollars of new spending and only 25-Million dollars more for tax relief. . .

Mello says the budget provides funding for water projects, maintenance for Game and Parks, job training, early childhood education, and services for the developmentally disabled. . .

Mello points out his committee also increased the property tax relief fund by 25-Million dollars.
