A bill legalizing medical marijuana has advanced in the Nebraska Unicameral.
Senator Dave Bloomfield of Hoskins asks colleagues not to get hung up on the plant in question.

But, Senator Robert Hilkemann of Omaha says too many questions remain unanswered.

The legislature advanced the bill on a 27-to-12 vote with eight senators not voting.
It must pass two more rounds of voting before being sent to the governor.
