As lawmakers return to Pierre for the start of the 2015 session tomorrow, many of the issues they have dealt with in the past will also come back.

Senator-elect Bernie Hunhoff of Yankton says he wants to renew the debate over Medicaid expansion…

Hunhoff says hospitals, especially in rural areas could face more financial difficulties without the expansion…

Under the Affordable Care Act, states that add more people to Medicaid health coverage would have most of that funded by the federal government.

Hunhoff says the added dollars could be a big help to the states economy…

About forty eight thousand people would be added to Medicaid under the expansion proposal.
