Despite some political disruptions and pandemic effects, U.S. exports are looking positive according to Dan Halstrom, President and CEO of the U.S. Meat Export Federation. He says both beef and pork going into Japan and Korea is positive and earlier Mexico was good.

He says there’s a lot of potential for beef exports into Africa, particularly in three specific countries.

Halstrom says another bright spot with Africa is that U.S. negotiators are working to get a trade deal with Kenya.

Halstrom says Africa has a fast growing middle class as well as the youngest population demographic which makes it a potential lucrative area for trade.
