South Dakota native Pat Binger is the new Chairman of the U.S. Meat Export Federation. He serves as Vice President for Cargill’s Protein Division. He says there are several issues to navigate through for U.S. red meat exports going forward including trying to move product through the effects of the pandemic.
He says other unknowns include new leaders in Congress and at the Administration level and what policies they’ll be advocating for trade.
Binger says yet another export challenge to navigate through will center around disease issues including African Swine Fever.
Binger says if you take COVID’s impacts out of the equation, the U.S..is sitting in pretty good shape with overall trade.
