Voters in the McCook Central School District in Salem said yes to new construction this week by approving a bond issue by a large margin. The vote was 547 yes to 190 no, a seventy four percent approval margin for the three point one million dollar bond.

The bond is part of the financing for the seven million dollar project. The rest will come from capital outlay bonds.

Swartos says they will start with design this year, and break ground next spring…
The two phase project will expand around the existing gym, and eventually retire their aging main building.
