Voters in the McCook Central School District in Salem said yes to new construction this week by approving a bond issue by a large margin. The vote was 547 yes to 190 no, a seventy four percent approval margin for the three point one million dollar bond.

Superintendent Dr. Dan Swartos said it was a good message from district voters…

The bond is part of the financing for the seven million dollar project. The rest will come from capital outlay bonds.

Swartos says they tried to explain every detail of the proposal…

Swartos says they will start with design this year, and break ground next spring…

The two phase project will expand around the existing gym, and eventually retire their aging main building.
