There was a lot of talk about marijuana in Pierre this week. The challenge to Amendment “A”, legalizing recreational marijuana was upheld by a circuit judge and legislation was introduced delaying the implementation of medicinal marijuana under “IM26.”

Senate Minority Leader Troy Heinert of Mission wasn’t surprised by the court action on Amendment “A”….

Heinert says the would support legislation moving toward recreational uses of marijuana….

Heinert was not pleased with the delay legislation on “IM26”…

Governor Kristi Noem said she would veto any bill that attempts to legalize recreational uses of marijuana.
